Yashica T4 is not very repairable, but its Tessar lens be converted to an M mount lens
I had a faulty Yashica compact camera that I thought there was an electronic problem that I can fix it. All the displays were working but the problem was the lens wasn’t moving.
So I opened up the camera in the hope to repair, I found some great information from a guy that added remote capability to the camera’s the circuit board. After you unscrew 9 visible screws, and 1 hidden under the battery compartment, the cover comes of easily
I was hoping to find some loose wires that I can solder but it was none of that. If you are lucky, you may just get away with a couple of cable pinching. It turns out mine was broken from the shutter, even if I access to the shutter, I am not sure I could do without damaging the lens. So I give up.
Now looking forward to have it a new life on my camera. Even if the lens is quite slow, I think it is very small compared to any lens with decent quality. Long live Yeshiva T4, and now waiting for the digital Carl Zeiss Tessar T* 3.5/35
